Sam de Jong
Sam de Jong is celebrated as one of the biggest filmmaking talents to come out of the Netherlands in recent years. Known for his critically acclaimed shorts Magnesium (2013), Marc Jacobs (2014) and Malaguti Phantom (2014), Sam wrote and directed his highly anticipated first feature film ‘Prince’, which was released during the 2015 Berlinale. 2019 saw the premiere of his second feature ‘Goldie’ at Berlinale and Tribeca Film Festival. It goes without saying that these films have been incredibly well received and placed Sam as a strong voice of the defining new wave of current filmmakers.
In addition to his fiction work, Sam has also made waves with his commercial projects. His ‘A-Z of Music’ with i-D and Marc Jacobs earned him a Gold at the 2018 Young Director Award, was awarded the prestigious D&AD Yellow and Wood Pencil and picked up a Gold Lamp at ADCN. Sam is currently working on his third feature with HALAL.
